This session will give participant a good understanding of the various types of absence from work, how to manage these and the impact these absences may have on your business

This practical workshop will provide participants with an understanding of the various types of absence, including planned and unplanned absences. The course will consist of a combination of practical workshops and exercises, as well as theory around the subject area.

Who the Course is aimed at

All managers, supervisors, directors or anybody who would benefit from an understanding of effective absence management

Course Content

Participants will look at the following in detail:

  • Sickness Absence – both long term and short term
  • Planned and Unplanned Absences
  • Statutory Absences – i.e. parental, maternity, paternity, jury service
  • Lateness
  • Skills and Knowledge required in order to manage the process
  • Statutory and Legislative responsibilities – how does the law affect absence management

It will also look at the skills required to manage change processes, and the impact of change on both staff and organisations. The course will consist of a combination of practical workshops and exercises, as well as theory around the subject.

All managers, supervisors, directors or anybody who is involved in the management of staff

Course Content

Participants will look at the following in detail:

  • Assertive and confidence skills

  • What constitutes a grievance
  • Disciplinary situation and different levels of offence and sanction
  • The statutory processes for both
